How it works

Four steps from email to result.

Designed to be obvious to a member voting from a phone in ninety seconds.

  1. 1

A link arrives in your inbox

When voting opens, every eligible member receives a personalised URL by email and SMS, tied to their member record.

  2. 2

The link confirms it is you

Each link is single-use. Opening it consumes the token and counts as your identity check — no password required.

  3. 3

    You cast a vote

Your selection is recorded against the ballot. The system stores no link between your identity and your choice.

  4. 4

    Results are published

When the returning officer closes voting, the tally appears here for every member to review.

Integrity

Built so members can trust the result.

A small set of guarantees, each verifiable end-to-end.

  • Token-based authentication

Each member receives a cryptographically signed token. Tokens are scoped to a single ballot and invalidated on use.

  • Vote and identity separated

Once a vote is cast, only the ballot, ticket, and choice are stored. The link to the member is dropped at write-time.

  • Receipts and audit

Members receive a confirmation email with a ticket reference. The secretariat retains an audit trail of every action.

  • Returning officer oversight

Voting opens, closes, and publishes only by the returning officer. Privileged actions require a separate strict role.

Eligibility

Who can vote

Eligibility is checked automatically against the member roll before any tokens are issued. If you do not receive a link by the published deadline, it usually means your membership record needs attention.

Resolve an eligibility issue
  • You are a TASK member in good standing
  • Your annual dues are paid up to the current cycle
  • You are eligible in the member category the ballot is open to
  • You have a working email or SMS address on file

Right now

Active and upcoming cycles.

When voting is open, the active ballot will appear here. Members will already have received the personal link.

No active ballot at the moment.

The next council election and any referenda will be announced by email and published here when the secretariat opens voting.

FAQ

Common questions.

  • I lost my voting email — what do I do?

Email elections@actuarieskenya.or.ke from the address on your member record. The returning officer can issue a fresh single-use link once eligibility is confirmed.

  • Can I change my vote after submitting?

No. The first submission counts and the token is invalidated. This is intentional so a single ticket cannot be re-used or replayed.

  • Can anyone tell how I voted?

No. Once your vote is written, only the ballot ID, ticket, and chosen option are persisted. The link to your member ID is dropped at write-time.

  • When are results published?

After the returning officer closes voting and the tally is reviewed. Results are published on this site and members receive an announcement email.

Returning officer

Need help to vote?

The returning officer can resolve eligibility issues, re-issue lost links, and confirm timelines. Replies are usually within one business day.
